----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- a shift back to democracy We did it! I'm still overjoyed--even with the GOP's determination to undermine democracy and all that. Was it the landslide I'd hoped for? No--but they still flipped some states and got at least four million more on the popular vote. It was about 8:30 a.m here when the media outlets finally called it and C. and I were both in the living room because C. had seen the "news" about the Four Seasons Landscaping thing on Twitter and he wanted to hate-watch the press conference but then the news broke and we cheered and I made him open the bottle of champagne I'd had on ice since Tuesday and we toasted the TV and texted with all our friends in a state of relieved joy. Two-and-a-half months until that rotting excuse for a human being is out of office. He and his horrible family should slink off the face of this earth and never be heard from again. Anyway, let's just hope the GOP isn't successful with its coup. Cheers? 5:36 pm - 09.11.20
