When there's no 'there' there to grip

Dear universe: Please just give me clarity on this job thing. I mean, no, wait, not clarity. How about just an answer and then I'll work on the clarity.
How about just information on whether there'll actually be a job posting or if it's just no longer on the table.

I'm tired of bugging M. about it. She's been very kind but she must be tired of me asking. By this point last year they'd already posted the job description.

This year, nothing.

Getting impatient. How can I expect to come to grips with something if there's no 'there' there to grip?

Anyway, an answer of some sorts would be greatly appreciated. Or even, at this point, a legitimate asking of the question.
