| ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Home again Got the keys on Friday. They accelerated the closing date, pushing it up nearly a week--which of course meant all sorts of craziness and stress but in the end it was awesome to be able to get into the house over the weekend even if it is, for now, empty. Friday night we bought take-out and ate on our new back patio, sipping the champagne that our realtor left us out of rinsed-out fast food cups. We walked through the bare rooms, taking measurements, talking paint and listening to the way our voices echoed throughout the vacant rooms. We watered the tomato plants and tidied up the garden hose. We met neighbors and invited friends over for a drink. We moved over boxes and talked about what we'd do here over the coming years.
