| ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- orange update Thanks to those of you who left well-wishes for Sophie. The good news is that she's doing MUCH better today - eating, moving around, etc. I got to visit with her for a little while today and she practically mauled me with affection. It was wonderful. The so-so news is that they still don't know what caused the kidney failure. But she has an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow. In the meantime, they'll continue treatment and monitoring how she responds. In any case, we still don't know how long she'll be hospitalized or what her future holds, but I feel the tiniest bit more hopeful. And that tiny bit of hope is a million times better than the awful sadness and emptiness I felt last night when I went to bed last night without a little lump of orange fur at my feet. In the meantime, the gray cat has been wandering around the house with an air of restlessness and anxiety. Perhaps I'm just transferring my feelings on to her and she doesn't give a whit. But, I think she does. It's not very often, if ever, that she sits in the middle of the house and lets out a series of agitated yelps. And of course, I've been spoiling her beyond normal - it's safe to say that while she's probably not tired of the kitty treats, she'd probably prefer it that I not pick her up every few minutes. 7:36 pm - 06.29.05
