----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- some summers, they drop like flies 2020 really is just not going to get any better is it? I am so anxious about everything, especially the election. Incredibly tired of those who try to argue about why not voting for B*den is some sort of radical form of protest against centrists. Such goddamned privilege. It's sickening. But we keep on keeping on. School started this last week and while the first week of school is always exhausting in a re-entry-hurts sort of way, this launch had its own unique set of challenges. So many emails to answer, so many emails not returned. It's challenging enough communicating with students in the Real World (and I'm saying this as observation not critique) when they don't fully read directions or respond to emails--layer in the pandemic and it's like navigating an obstacle course that's been designed to make us all fail. I am trying though. Numerous emails. Updates and announcements. Drawing on the vast reserves of patience that I have been trying to store up this summer. I really can't believe we're coming up on Labor Day. The summer it just....passed by....and left us all behind. Aside from a few socially distanced visits here and there we all missed out on so much. No state fair and photo booth. No backyard pool parties. No barbecues. No sitting on the patio until long past dusk, sipping on cold white wine and reminiscing. Now the days are already getting shorter. The melancholy, it is settling in in new ways. I hope everyone is OK--or at least OK-ish--out there. 1:31 pm - 30.08.20
